In evaluation of sand dunes, totally 21 sand dunes from 5 stations in different geographical locations were studied. The obtained sedimentological evidence revealed that Ahangaran sand dunes can be classified into two simple and composite groups morphologically. Results of sedimentological analysis also indicated a positive correlation between particle size and morphology of dunes; i.e. with changes in sedimentological parameters, the morphology of sand dunes grades from simple to composite forms in central and western part of the studied area. The fine-grained pattern of crest is another characteristic which were introduced for the studied linear sand dunes. The comparison of the sedimentological parameters of these sand dunes with the other places of the world such as Kalahari, Namibia, Australia and Egyptian Sinai indicate that the Ahangaran sand dunes with an average of 2.34φ in grain size is similar to the other regions, but have lower sorting in the range of 0.79 which is more outstanding than the other parts of the world. مطالعات میدانی و بررسی تصاویر ماهواره‌ای، وجود تپه‌های ماسه‌ای خطی را در شمال منطقه آهنگران شهرستان زیرکوه (استان خراسان جنوبی) واقع در شرق ایران اثبات نمود. در بررسی تپه‌های ماسه‌ای، مجموعاً تعداد 21 تپه در پنج ایستگاه و در موقعیت‌های جغرافیایی مختلف بررسی شد. با توجه به مطالعات انجام شده بر روی پارامترهای رسوب‌شناسی، تپه‌های ماسه‌ای آهنگران از نظر مورفولوژی‌ به دو نوع ساده و مرکب دسته‌بندی شد. همچنین نتایج به‌دست‌آمده از بررسیهای رسوب‌شناسی، حاکی از رابطه معنادار بین پارامترهای رسوبی و مورفولوژی تپه‌های ماسه‌ای مورد مطالعه می‌باشد. به این معنی که در بخش‌های مرکزی و غربی ناحیه مورد مطالعه، با تغییر پارامترهای رسوبی، مورفولوژی تپه‌های ماسه‌ای نیز از نوع ساده به مرکب تغییر می‌کند. از دیگر خصوصیات تپه‌های خطی شرق ایران، الگوی ریزدانه برای خط الراس بوده که برای دون‌های خطی ماسه‌ای مورد مطالعه معرفی شد. مقایسه پارامترهای رسوب‌شناسی محدوده پژوهشی با سایر نقاط دنیا مانند کالاهاری، نامیبیا، استرالیا و سینای مصر نشان می‌دهد که تپه‌های ماسه‌ای آهنگران با میانگین اندازه 34/2 فی در محدوده اندازه دانه‌های سایر نقاط قرار داشته، اما در مقایسه با آنها جورشدگی پایین‌تری در حد 79/0 نشان می‌دهد که این ویژگی تپه‌های خطی آهنگران را از سایر نقاط متمایز می‌سازد. http://geology.saminatech.ir/en/Article/Download/9538
