Al-Shifa (The Book of Healing) is a philosophical encyclopedia, which, in Ibn Sina’s words, consists of four sections on logic, physics, mathematics, and metaphysics. The comprehensive and detailed nature of this work persuaded later scholars to write glosses, rather than comments and interpretations, on it. However, there are some short treatises whose writers have tried to explain some of the complexities regarding Ibn Sina’s kinematics in al-Shifa without making a direct reference to the title of this book in their own works. Hakim Mulla Solayman Gilani, a philosopher of the 11th century (AH), has explored some of the difficulties regarding the definitions of motion, types of motion, continuous motion, and cutting motion in a short treatise entitled Motion, Rest, and Time. In this treatise, in addition to paying particular attention to the views of Ibn Sina and Mulla Sadra, Hakim Gilani has also considered the views of some other thinkers such as Fakhr al-Din Razi, Athir al-Din Abhari, Khwajah Nasir al-Din Tusi, and Mir Seyyed Jurjani concerning the problem of motion. Hakim Gilani’s treatise consists of three parts: 1) An introduction to the definitions of motion, rest, and time; 2) Types of motion; 3) Responses to raised criticisms and objections. This treatise is published for the first time as an appendix to this paper. حركت‌شناسي ابن سينا بويژه آنچه در كتاب الشفاء‌ ‌مطرح شده، بر انديشمندان دورة اسلامي تأثير بسياري گذاشته است. الشفاء‌ ‌دانشنامه‌يي فلسفي است كه بتعبير ابن سينا داراي چهار «جملة» منطق، طبيعيّات، رياضيات و الهيات است. تفصيل و جامعيت اين اثر سبب شده است تا انديشمندان بعدي، بيش از آنكه به شرح و تفسيرنگاري بر آن بپردازند به شيوة حاشيه‌نگاري بر آن روي آورند. با اين وصف، برخي رساله‌هاي موجز را ميتوان يافت كه مصنّفان آن آثار كوشيده‌اند تا به ايضاح برخي از دشواريهاي مربوط به حركت‌شناسي ابن سينا در كتاب الشفاء‌ ‌بپردازند بي‌آنكه وابستگي به الشفاء‌ ‌در عنوان اثر هويدا باشد. حكيم ملّا سليمان گيلاني، انديشمند قرن يازدهم هجري، در اثري موجز با عنوان رسالة‌الحركة والسكون والزمان‌ ‌به بررسي چند دشواري مربوط به تعريف حركت، انواع حركت، حركت توسطيه و حركت قطعيّه پرداخته است. حكيم گيلاني در اين رساله، افزون بر توجه ويژه به آراء ابن سينا و صدرالدين شيرازي، به آراء انديشمنداني نظير فخرالدين رازي، اثيرالدين ابهري، نصيرالدين طوسي، و ميرسيّد شريف جرجاني نيز در باب حركت توجه كرده است. ساختار رسالة حكيم گيلاني داراي سه بخش است: 1) المقدّمة في تعريف الحركة والسكون والزمان، 2) في بيان أنواع الحركة، 3) في بيان ما يزيد تحقيقها و سبيل دفع ما يورد عليه. تصحيح و تحليل اين رساله براي نخستينبار انتشار مي‌يابد. http://kherad.mullasadra.org/en/Article/Download/23863
