One of the important elements in this relationship is physical changes and land use and creating transport and its impact on rural settlements. So many parts of our country because of these changes have economic, social and environmental developments. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of creating freeway on the development of villages and path settlements and identifying and providing appropriate solutions in the following areas: Environmental, demographic, animal ecology, social structure, industry, service, meadows and forests, geology, agriculture, land, livestock, tourism, economic, traffic and transport structure and management by using AHP method. Research theory suggests that freeway has positive impact on passing rural settlements and creates environmental effects and changes to the area under the influence. The research method is descriptive - analytical and with functional goal and from field studies in the form of observation, interviews, questionnaires, providing photographs and videos have been used. It is concluded that there are many villages which were impasse in path, and were leading only through local way to other villages, districts, counties and cities, after construction of freeway and its evolution, they were connected to the main artery and moreover this flow has its remarkable developments in areas under the influence, it has least environmental damage. توسعه پایدار، مؤلفه های مختلف: اقتصادی، اجتماعی، توریستی، کالبدی و زیست محیطی را دربرمی گیرد. یکی از ارکان مهم در این رابطه، تغییر و تحولات کالبدی و کاربردی اراضی و ایجاد بسترهای حمل ونقل و تأثیر آن بر سکونتگاههای روستایی است. لذا، بسیاری از نقاط کشورمان به خاطر این گونه تغییرات، دچار تحولات اقتصادی، اجتماعی و زیست محیطی شده اند. هدف این تحقیق، بررسی تأثیر ایجاد آزاد راه تهران - شمال بر توسعه روستاها و سکونتگاههای مسیر و تعیین و ارایه راهکارهای مناسب در زمینه های: زیست محیطی، جمعیتی، اکولوژی جانوری، ساختار اجتماعی، صنعتی، خدماتی، مراتع و جنگل ها، زمین شناسی، کشاورزی، اراضی، دامپروری، گردشگری، ساختار اقتصادی، ترافیکی و حمل ونقل و مدیریت، با بهره گیری از روشAHP می باشد. در فرضیه تحقیق مطرح می شود که آزادراه تأثیرات مثبتی را بر سکونتگاههای روستایی مسیر عبور می گذارد و نیز اثرات و تغییرات زیست محیطی را برای ناحیه تحت نفوذ ایجاد می کند. روش تحقیق حاضر، توصیفی ـ تحلیلی و با هدف کاربردی است و از روش مطالعات میدانی در قالب مشاهده و... استفاده شده است. چنین نتیجه گیری می شود که بسیاری از روستاهای مسیر که در بن بست قرار داشتند و تنها از طریق راه های محلی به سایر روستاها، دهستان ها، بخش ها و شهرها منتهی می شدند، پس از احداث آزادراه و سیر تکاملی آن، به شریان اصلی وصل شده و این جریان ضمن این که خود تحولات چشمگیری را در نواحی تحت نفوذ به همراه دارد، کمترین آسیب زیست محیطی را نیز درپی خواهد داشت.
